About Magnolia Learning
Magnolia Learning’s Owner & Tutor:
My name is Katelynn Deal. I am an Amherst County native and proud owner of Magnolia Learning. I attended Longwood University, earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy. I taught 3rd Grade for five years, serving as a curriculum team member and mentor for new teachers before welcoming our son last February. I have worked with many struggling readers to ensure progress was made and confidence restored. I look forward to working with your family.
Magnolia Learning’s Name:
Magnolia Learning is named in honor of my grandmother. At a young age, she showed me the importance of reading, conversation, & life experience. My earliest memories include baking bread in her kitchen, learning to read in her living room, and having long conversations by the Magnolia trees. These memories ignited a deep passion for literacy and fueled my desire to become a teacher and reading specialist.
Magnolia Learning’s Mission Statement:
Magnolia Learning is dedicated to promoting love of reading, nurturing family connection, and ensuring each child receives high-quality reading instruction backed by the science of reading.
